Types Of Hair Transplantation
The hair transplant surgery involves two distinct procedures. First is known as strip harvesting. These removed skin strips are then planted on the areas with lesser or no hair growth known as recipient area. There is a little scar mark in the donor area which heals in few days.
In the second procedure known as FUE(Follicular unit extraction), hair follicles are extracted from the donor area and planted in the recipient area. Follicular units of 1 to 4 hairs are removed under local anaesthesia and are replanted by the surgeon using fine needles or micro blades placing them in such a way that it will appear as a realistic natural growth in the recipient area.
Preoperative and postoperative medication and care is advised by doctors for best results. It takes about ten to twelve months for the transplanted hair to grow fully and naturally in the recipient area.
