Keloid/Hypertrophic Scars

Scars are the result of the skin repairing itself after suffering an injury that generates damage or causes loss, which leads to a permanent change of appearance and function. While it is a normal physiological response, there may be an exaggerated response that results in a large scar affecting the aesthetics of the skin and occasionally the function.
